About the Issuer

UGRO Capital Limited, a systemically important NBFC, traces its origins to 1993 when it was founded as Chokhani Securities Ltd. Shachindra Nath acquired and renamed the company in 2018, since when it has focused on providing secured and unsecured loans primarily to MSMEs. The company has been listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange since 1995 and on the National Stock Exchange since August 2021. Under Mr. Nath's leadership following the 2018 restructuring, UGRO has been steered by his over two decades of financial services experience, guiding the company's growth and diversification into MSME financing; this vision, combined with an experienced management team, has helped establish a strong market presence and attracted significant investment from reputable private equity firms. UGRO's product suite for the MSME segment spans secured and unsecured business loans, supply chain financing, and machinery loans, delivered through three principal sourcing channels — branch-led, ecosystem-led, and partnership-led — allowing customised solutions tailored to varied MSME needs. The company's credit strengths include strong capitalisation supported by substantial equity infusion and diversified funding sources, along with a well-diversified MSME product offering and a wide geographical footprint across multiple states.
