Indore Municipal Corporation

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is the largest municipal corporation in Madhya Pradesh and functions under the provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1956. The corporation administers an area of approximately 530 square kilometres and is responsible for providing essential civic infrastructure and municipal services, including water supply, sewerage, solid waste management, and urban infrastructure to the city of Indore. The executive administration of IMC is headed by the Municipal Commissioner, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer appointed by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. As the primary urban local body for Indore, IMC benefits from its strategic importance, established governance framework, and key role in delivering civic services and supporting urban development.
